Murray: In the Heart of Salt Lake County
Historically, Murray was once part of Salt Lake County's major industrial hub. Today, most of those industrial spots have been replaced with new real estate developments and mercantile commerce. The major schools in Murray include Murray High School, Horizon School, and Viewmont School. The city boasts one of the best park systems in the Valley, including Murray City Park. Baseball is also a big deal in this great city. The Ken Brice Ball Park hosted the Babe Ruth League World Series in 2009 and 2012.
Fashion Place Mall is also located in Murray, making it easy to shop at high-end stores like Dillard's, The Container Store, and Nordstrom's. There are also some great restaurants in Murray. Our favorite picks include CousCous Mediterranean Grill, Bambara, and Tucano's. If you don't want to drive, the valley's Trax light rail can get you anywhere within a matter of minutes.
Midvale: A Small Town With a Big Personality
Midvale is just 12 miles north of Salt Lake City, making it a great place to live for the commuter. You can easily get to downtown Salt Lake City within a half hour by car. Fashion Place Mall is also very close to Midvale. Restaurants include Bohemian Brewery and Grill, Joe Morley's Barbecue, and the Midvale Mining Company Restaurant. Major schools in the area include Copperview School, Midvale Middle School, and Hillcrest High School. Buses and light rail also make it very easy to get around the valley and this little town is not too far away from the major slopes.
