Cottonwood Heights: At the Foot of the Wasatch Mountains
Cottonwood Heights is located near Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons just about 15 miles south of Salt Lake City. The area is a great place to live because of its access to Brighton, Alta, and Snowbird. The quiet neighborhood is a great alternative to the busy bustle of downtown Salt Lake City. The crime rate is low, due to the city's decision to create its own police force, and the schools are some of the best in the valley. You can find great restaurants and shopping within a few minutes of anywhere you live.
Some of the great schools in Cottonwood Heights include Bella Vista School, Butler Middle School, and Brighton High School. Cottonwood Cyclery has some great options for bikers who want to hit the trails during the summer months. Dining amenities include Tiburon, if you like herbs and vegetables that are grown in house, and La Costa for a great authentic Mexican dish.
Getting around the Valley from Cottonwood Heights is also easy. Utah State Routes 190 and 210 are located along the eastern part of the city and I-215, the Belt Route, is not too far away.
